This restaurant is deservedly famous for its ambuyat – a national dish of the pith of the sago tree, which is ground into powder then mixed with water. This dish was made popular during WWII when the Japanese invaded Borneo and cut off the rice supplies. You can add different sauces to this dish – chilli and shrimp sauces are the most popular.
