Jama Masjid

The Jama Masjid is the most famous and most important mosque in all of India. It was built in 1656 AD under the command of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The mosque houses a large and impressive courtyard that can hold up to 25,000 worshippers.

Entry to the Jama Masjid is free. However, be careful with what you wear since you will have to cover-up (no shorts nor sleeveless shirts are allowed). Also, if you want to take pictures or video record the mosque, be aware that you will be charged Rs. 200 for doing so. Moreover, it is recommended that you climb the minaret because it will give you enchanting views of the city. The cost to climb up the minaret is Rs. 20.
