A press release stated that Terminal 2 at Dubai’s International Airport is set to welcome flydubai passengers on 1 June when the budget carrier begins operations. Flydubai will have a dedicated entrance and center counters, and a separate entrance for pre check in screening. The Head of Terminal 2 said “”Flydubai’s entrance will be clearly branded with the flydubai colorful branding and is the first entrance to the building”.
Major refurbishments at Terminal 2 recently completed have improved operations and increased capacity for both passengers and cargo by 50%. Queuing time has fallen because the number of counters in the check in area has been increased from 22 to 36. A huge car park with a very short curb to seat distance provides easy access to about 1,040 vehicles. During the next phase of Terminal 2 refurbishment a new transport infrastructure on Al Itatihad and Al Twar roads will be built, providing better access and approach route to Dubai International Airport.
