Passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport reached 9.5 million during the first quarter of 2009. This is a 2% increase compared to the same period last year and makes it one of the ten busiest airports in the world in terms of its growth during this period.
CEO of Dubai Airports said given the global economic situation and the double digit drop in passenger traffic these results are very positive. He said the results showed Dubai is an important center for business and tourism and also a central aviation hub connecting East and West.
