The Abu Dhabi International Airport passed the security system audit administered by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) under the supervision of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), according to an announcement at a media conference in Abu Dhabi.
ICAO is a major UN agency based in Montreal, Canada, responsible for specifying techniques and principles of international air navigation, and developing and planning international air transport to make sure there is safe and orderly growth. Kevin P. Cahill, Aviation Security Audit Team Leader for ICAO, said the UAE, has the legislative infrastructure, systems, and structures needed to deal with any security challenges at the airport.
