April 21-Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has registered a 13.8 per cent increase in passenger traffic, according to the figures released for the first quarter as compared to the same period last year. Abu Dhabi International Airport has also witnessed an 22.2 per cent increase in cargo.
Meanwhile, the top top city destinations from Abu Dhabi in the first quarter were Bangkok, London, Doha, Manila and Bahrain; representing 21 per cent of the total traffic handled by the airport in the first three months.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad Al Haddabi, Senior Vice President Airports Operations, ADAC, said: “the Q1 passenger and cargo data reflects the continued strength and growth being experienced at the Abu Dhabi International Airport and that air traffic, in general, is rebounding strongly, against Q1 2009 figures. I would also commend the commitment and performance of the entire ADAC team in continuing to offer world-class services to all our passengers.”
