The Foreign Minister of UAE, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has announced in the Federal National Council that the Emirates will review its visa-on-arrival policy to citizens of 34 countries. “The review of this issue will benefit the UAE and many other countries… and provides an opportunity to reconsider the political and consular procedures and demand provision of beforehand visas,” he said.
The minister said that the visa-on-arrival policy has been greatly beneficial for the UAE for nine years now, especially real estate and tourism, because “the 90-day free entry facility attracts citizens of those countries to come to the UAE.” However, the policy must now be reconsidered, he added.
