30 June 2010 – Priority Pass, the world’s leading independent airport lounge program, announces that its members have rated the Dilmun Lounge, Bahrain as its Lounge of the Year 2010 for the Middle East and Africa region. This is the fifth year in succession that this lounge has received an award from Priority Pass – which means every single year since it opened.
“The survey gets a huge response from our members all over the world and, with over 30,000 ratings this year, the awards reflect truly exemplary service standards from the Dilmun Lounge and our other award winners.” commented Jonathan French, Head of Brand at Priority Pass.
Philip Bowell, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Airport Services (operator of the Dilmun Lounge) said, “We are delighted that the efforts of the team that look after our Dilmun Lounge have been acknowledged once again. We truly believe our lounge is an Oasis in the hustle and bustle of airport operations, where our customers can relax in peace. We would like to thank all those members of Priority Pass who voted for us and we will try even harder to earn the confidence shown”.
The Dilmun lounge offers a superb range of services for travelers, including outstanding business facilities for those who want to work, with free wi-fi internet access. For those making stopovers in Bahrain, showers are available which, together with the outstanding furnishings and ambience, allow travellers to rest and recuperate before their next flight. Complimentary snacks and beverages are also available.
Awards were also made to the highest-rated lounges in other regions of the world:
• Overall Worldwide award – SUMAQ VIP Lounge and Business Center, Lima
• North America – Continental Presidents Club, Terminal E, Houston
• Europe – Panorama Lounge, Zurich
• Asia-Pacific – KAL Lounge, Concourse A, Seoul Incheon
Jonathan French added, “Our members travel frequently and they spend a lot of time in airports. They value the opportunities that the best lounges provide to relax and also to catch up on work, away from the crowds. All of these lounges can be very proud of this accolade from our members.”
