The IATA has awarded Platinum Airport status to Abu Dhabi Airports Company for their adoption of 100 % bar coded boarding passes. The initiative allows for smoother sailing check-in and eliminates the need for queing at check-in desks. The IATA has aims of making all major airports use the 100% bar coded boarding passes by the end of 2010.
