Emirates Airlines will begin double daily service to Jakarta, Indonesia in March this year. Dubai’s flagship carrier will add another three flights per week to its current flight service to Jakarta, which operates on a two-class Boeing 777. This will add another 2,600 seats to the Jakarta route each week. There has been increasing demand for Emirate’s Jakarta service so it added another flight to this destination in December 2009.
Senior vice president for commercial operations, Far East and Australia said “Emirates is grateful to the Indonesian regulatory authorities for their continuing support. Indonesia is one of our most important markets in the region and we look forward to serving the country’s growing demand for air travel service.” Richard Jewsbury said Indonesia is an increasingly popular destination for Middle East travelers as demonstrated by a 20 percent annual growth in arrivals from the region.
