Emirates announced it will begin direct flights to Tokyo, Japan, beginning March 28th, 2010. The new flight service comes seven years after Emirates launched operations to Osaka, Japan, where the carrier currently flies daily. Tokyo currently will be Emirates 102nd destination and follows recent launch of operations to Durban and Luanda. Emirates Airline will fly five times a week, non stop between Japan and Tokyo – every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The Boeing aircraft has a three class configuration of eight First Class Private Suites, 42 Business, and 304 Economy Class seats. Flight EK318 will take off from Dubai at 2:50 hours and land at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport at 17:55 hours on the same day. The return flight will depart at 21:40 hours and arrive in Dubai at 4:35 am the next business day. The service connects with other major centers in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
