Etihad Airways introduced its new first class suite on the Abu Dhabi to London route last week, on an Airbus A340-600 aircraft. This is the first Etihad aircraft to feature the suite. Etihad Airways chief executive James Hogan called it a major milestone that demonstrates “our continued commitment to providing a world class experience for our premium passengers.”
Each state of the art suite features an extra large leather seat upholstered by leather firm Poltona Frau which extends to a fully flat bed 80.5 inches long. Interiors are provided by Ferrari. A 57 inch high door provides passengers privacy inside their cabin which has a personal wardrobe and change-room with mirror, and refreshment cabinet. Television and radio programs and over 600 hours of movies are available on the in-flight entertainment system. Etihad will introduce the new suite on a second A340-600 in September and on five more Airbus A330-300 aircraft over the next five years.
