India’s private international airline, Jet Airways, begins new Mumbai-Riyadh flight service from 6 August 2009. This is the airlines second destination in Saudi Arabia. They currently have a daily Mumbai-Jeddah service. The new service will operate on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. With the addition of this new service Jet Airways now flies to 8 cities in the Gulf including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Muscat, Bahrain, Riyadh, and Jeddah.
Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Prock-Shauer said “Saudi Arabia is a very important market for Jet Airways on account of the large volume of traffic to the Kingdom, and an important addition to the airline’s growing network.” Jet Airways previously introduced a daily Dubai-Hyderabad service and will start a Kochi-Sharjah service on 1 September 2009.
