Etihad Airway’s new fleet of 35 Boeing 787-9 aircraft will be powered by the GEnx-1B engine. The GE90-115B engine will power its ten new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Delivery of the 787-9 aircraft will start in 2015 but delivery of the 777 aircraft will begin next year.
Etihad Airways CEO James Hogan said “The GEnx and GE90 engines not only have strong environmental credentials, but also are among two of the most technologically advanced products currently available.” James Hogan said the order is an important milestone in their relationship with GE.
