Emirates Airlines enhanced the online booking and payment process on its website www.emirates.com. An Emirates statement said payment options have increased because recent research provided information about which payment method customers prefer. Payment may now be made in one of 14 currencies.
Emirates partnered with GlobalCollect to enhance the online payment and bookings system. GlobalCollect is the world’s leading premier payment service provider of local e-payments. Emirates Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations said they took a local approach in choosing additional payment methods because each country has different preferences. Richard Vaughn said Giropay, for example, is very popular in Germany and they “have now added this as an additional payment method for passengers purchasing tickets from the four cities in Germany from which we fly.”
