The national airline of the UAE, Etihad Airways, began operations to Nagoya, Japan on Tuesday with the launch of its Nagoya-Abu Dhabi flight service. The new service will initially operate four times a week on two Airbus A330 aircraft via Beijing. The number of flights to Nagoya will increase to five times a week beginning on March 29th.
Etihad Airways chief executive officer James Hogan said “We believe the connection between Abu Dhabi and Nagoya will offer opportunities to grow tourism as well as foster commercial growth and benefit key industries”. Etihad will expand its Japan services on March 27th when it begins flights between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo. Beginning on March 1st, Etihad will also offer codeshare services with Japan’s ANA, providing Etihad passengers connections from Nagoya to Chitose or Fukuoka and from Tokyo’s Narita Airport to Osaka. ANA passengers can connect to Etihad’s worldwide network via Abu Dhabi.
