March 3: Emirates, the government-owned Dubai airline, has admitted that the Etihad logo that appeared on the latter airline’s in-flight entertainment system last month was a ‘technical error’. Etihad is Emirates rival and is owned by Abu Dhabi.
The promo showed Etihad’s logo appearing on the in-flight entertainment system at regular intervals. “Emirates can confirm that a technical error occurred with security markings on one film. This error occurred during film encoding by a third-party supplier in the US and as a result has also affected a number of other airlines,” said a spokesperson for Emirates.
