Emirates Airlines has opened a lounge at the Birmingham International Airport, making it the third in the region.
Spanning over an area of 7,000 square feet, first-class and business-class Emirates passengers can use the lounge while in transit. The lounge is located ay the Emirates’ departure gate in the new international pier in Terminal 1.
Passengers can relax in leather seats and watch the news on plasma screen TVs. There is also a business centre with complimentary internet access and shower facilities. There are also a variety of gourmet dishes to choose from in the lounge.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the lounge, Mohammed Mattar, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services, said: "This significant investment to our operation at Birmingham further highlights our commitment to the region and the importance of our twice-daily service to the Midlands. We hope our premium customers will enjoy this new facility next time they fly with us and look forward to experiencing our trademark attentive service for which we are renowned."
Other Emirates lounges in the UK are located in London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports. Around the world, Emirates premium passengers can enjoy lounges in Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Brisbane, Dubai, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Mumbai, Munich, New York-JFK, Paris – Charles de Gaulle, Perth, Singapore, Sydney and Zurich.
