March 28 – British Airway’s cabin crew kicked off the second phase of their strike action yesterday, forcing the airline to cancel four Dubai flights, along with all flights on the London-Bahrain routes. The airline’s Abu Dhabi operations however, are flying as scheduled. BA cancelled its BA0105 London-Dubai flight on Saturday, scheduled to arrive at 20:40 pm and the corresponding flights for the rest of the strike period, which ends on March 30th, 2010. These flights are: BA0107 London-Dubai (arrival time 12:50 pm today), BA0107 London-Dubai (arrival time 12:50 pm tomorrow), and BA0106 Dubai-London (departure time 1:45 am today).
BA has said over 75 percent of its passengers, about 180,000 out of 240,000, will be able to travel as planned during this four day strike action. BA Chief Executive Willie Walsh said the vast majority of staff are “pulling together to serve our customers and keep our flag flying.”
