April 20- It may take another three to six days to resume normal airline operations after the suspension of flights to European countries since Wednesday, said the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Director, Giovanni Bisignani. The disruption is the result of Iceland’s volcanic ash cloud that led many European countries to close its airspace. Bisgnani, who was speaking during a press conference, also said that airlines have been generally dissatisfied with the response of authorities, pointing out that Europe has yet to exhibit leadership in this crisis.
IATA estimates that airlines around the world are losing more than $200 million a day due to the disruptions.
