April 25- British Airways has speeded up its efforts to send its passengers who got stranded in Dubai back home, in the aftermath of the volcanic ash incident. A Boeing 767 departed from Heathrow Airport on Thursday to get passengers from Dubai while another is scheduled to arrive on Sunday morning. Passengers are also being advised to register with British Airways via a web form to speed up rebooking.
Speaking about the efforts, Paolo De Renzis, Area Commercial Manager, Middle East said, “We are doing everything we can to help bring our customers back home as quickly as possible after this unprecedented situation. This is why this weekend we are planning extra operations from a variety of destinations, and we hope to add more repatriation flights into the schedule in the days ahead. As with yesterday’s flight to Dubai, our absolute priority is to get as many of customers back home as soon as we can. Customers should continue to check the status of their flight on ba.com before travelling to the airport.”
