May 6- Low cost carrier flydubai announced on Monday that it will start flights to Karachi, Pakistan, its sixth new destination this month, bringing the total number of destinations in its network to 19. Starting on June 21st, flydubai will fly five times a week to Karachi on a one way fare of Dh 300, which includes all taxes and one piece of luggage. FZ333 will take off from Dubai at 08:15 am and land in Karachi at 11:25 am. The return flight will depart from Karachi at 12:10 pm and arrive in Dubai at 1:30 pm.
Ghaith al Ghaith CEO of flydubai, said Pakistan will “play an important role in expanding the airline’s reach and make a significant difference to the Pakistani expatriates” working in the UAE. Ghaith said there are now 700,000 Pakistani expatriates working in the UAE and the new flights give them a chance to travel home. “We are in the business of bringing more people together more often and we can see the Karachi route being a very busy one indeed.” Pakistan is already a very close trading partner of the UAE, and the UAE is Pakistan’s biggest source of foreign remittances received through the banking channels.
