May 31 – Gulf passengers will once again be bracing themselves for the next round of strikes by the British Airways (BA) cabin crew that kicked off yesterday. Talks between Unite – BA cabin crew union – and the management failed once again on Friday.
This round of strikes will last five days, coinciding with the June British bank holiday while the third round will begin on June 5, right before the FIFA world cup that begins in South Africa on June 11. “We are very disappointed that Unite are continuing to take strike action up to 9 June,” said BA on its website.
Flights in the Gulf have already been affected, with scheduled flights due to operate this week on the Dubai-London, Doha-Bahrain-London and Jeddah-London routes already cancelled.
