Swiss International Air Lines is adjusting its range of service to comply with demand during the 2011/2012 winter timetable period. The reduction of selected frequencies and withdrawal of service to some destinations is being offset by an increase in frequencies on other routes. As of February 2012 SWISSwill introduce a new Zurich-Beijing and a new Geneva-Nice service. Services from Zurich and Geneva to London, Moscow and Madrid will be increased.SWISS’s modern, standardised Business Class product on long-haul flights offers passengers maximum travel comfort.
Zurich-Beijing as of February 2012
The coming winter timetable will see the airline’s route network out of Zurich expanded by one new destination. On 11 February SWISS will inaugurate daily service to the Chinese capital. Beijing thus joins Hong Kong and Shanghai as SWISS’s third destination in China. Turning to Europe, SWISS will made various adjustments to its services from Zurich, adding a seventh daily frequency to London Heathrow as of 30 October. Service to Sofia, on the other hand, will cease for economic reasons.
Service from Geneva expanded
In Geneva, SWISS will gradually expand its operations portfolio in Europe in the months ahead. From 31 October SWISS will boost the number of flights to London City from four to five daily. As of 16 December, two daily flights to Moscow will be offered. And as of 10 February 2012 SWISS will link Geneva with the Côte d’Azur by serving Nice twice daily with an Airbus A319.Simultaneous with the start of the Nice service SWISS will strengthen its presence in Spain by increasing the number of daily flights from Geneva to Madrid from two to three. With the introduction of service to Nice and the frequency in increase for Madrid, SWISS will station its tenth aircraft at Geneva Airport.
72 destinations in 38 countries
During the coming winter timetable period SWISS will serve a total of 72 destinations (47 in Europe, 25 intercontinental) in 38 countries with a fleet of 88 aircraft (including seven wetlease aircraft). Passengers on all SWISS-operated long-haul flights from Zurich and Geneva can enjoy a standardised, state-of-the-art Business Class that offers optimum travel comfort. With the introduction of its new Business Class SWISS is the only airline in Europe to offer a three-class product on all intercontinental flights.
Edelweiss Air / SWISS holiday flights
Together with its partner Edelweiss Air SWISS offers flights to popular holiday destinations around the world. Twice weekly service from Zurich to Cape Town and Colomboare part of this product, while Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh become two new holiday destinations, served once weekly from Geneva.
