British Airways’ new 787-9 Dreamliner will start flying from Abu Dhabi and Muscat to London Heathrow from November 6, 2015.
Seats are now on sale and can be booked via the official website, with special return First class fares from Abu Dhabi to London available from AED 22,567. The sale runs until October 12, 2015 and is valid for travel between October 5, 2015 and April 30, 2016.
The Abu Dhabi-Muscat announcement comes soon after the airline confirming that the first route to benefit from its new aircraft will be New Delhi from October 25, 2015. Following Abu Dhabi and Muscat joining British Airways’ 787-9 routes, the carrier will start flying its new Dreamliners to Kuala Lumpur in December, the Texan city of Austin in February, and San Jose, California, in May.
Paolo De Renzis, Head of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia Sales for British Airways said, “The Dreamliner is a new generation aircraft that is the perfect home for our luxurious new First cabin – a first across our 787 fleet. British Airways’ premium offering has always been very popular with our customers in the UAE and Oman, and with our First cabin offering just eight seats in comparison to the 14 seats available on other British Airways long-haul aircraft, the spacious seats and cabin environment offer even more exclusivity and privacy to regional customers. The 787s are the most technologically advanced aircraft in British Airways’ fleet and I’m excited that we are introducing the 787-9 to the Middle East market in November.”
The 787-9, the first of which arrived with British Airways in September, is 20ft longer than its 787-8 predecessor – of which the airline has eight – and features four cabins: World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), Club World (business class), and the new First cabin.
