Thousands of people watched as a Qatar Airways A 350 aircraft flew in formation over Doha with the world-famous Red Arrows aerobatic display team in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the airline’s launch.
The event was hosted by British Ambassador to the State of Qatar HE Ajay Sharma and HE Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group.
“It is an honor for us to see one of our Airbus A350 aircraft and the famous Red Arrows taking part in an aerial display over Doha,” said Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways. “I am proud of all that Qatar Airways has achieved over the last 20 years, and we look forward to another 20 years of leadership, innovation and service to all our customers.”
Following its re-launch in 1997, Qatar Airways became one of the fastest growing airlines in aviation history with an annual two-digit growth rate. Qatar Airways, the world’s best airline for 2017, will add 26 cities to its destinations before the end of 2018, including Canberra in Australia, Chiang Mai in Thailand, Cardiff in the UK and many more.
Qatar Airways has received a number of awards this year, including the 2017 Best Airline of the Year award, Best Airline in the Middle East, Best Business Class of the Year Award and Best First Class Passenger Lounge in the world.
