Abu Dhabi has again made it to the list of top ten travel destinations in 2010 in the US travel guide, Frommer’s. The top ten listing is based on suggestions made by travel writers, editors, and Frommer’s survey of reader’s favorite destinations. Frommer’s editors said the 2010 recommended destinations represents “a mix of emerging hot spots, under appreciated cities, and placed to visit before they are overrun by tourist crowds.”
Last month Abu Dhabi was included in the top ten recommended destinations for 2010 by Lonely Planet, one of the world’s leading tourist guides. Director General of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) said “This is a fantastic endorsement on which to end what has been an incredible year for Abu Dhabi.” Mubarak Al Muhairi noted this year the emirate achieved world-class event status with the staging of the Etihad Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix. Frommer’s praised Abu Dhabi for its beautiful beaches, greenery, distinct Emirate character, and for preserving its cultural heritage.
