Dubai has a history of pioneering some of the worlds’ most exciting and extraordinary developments, and 2010 will be no exception. The emirate is planning to complete a host of ground-breaking projects in 2010 including the Al Maktoum International Airport and the launch of Meydan, one of the world’s largest purpose built horse racing destinations. Also the world’s tallest hotel building, the 72 floor Rose Rayhan, will open in Dubai in December of 2009. The Al Maktoum International Airport is planned to be the world’s biggest passenger and cargo hub – it will be ten times bigger than Dubai International Airport and Dubai Cargo village combined.
Ian Scott with Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) said “Despite the global economic downturn we dare to implement projects that others think unthinkable and we have an ambition that is the envy of other nations around the world.” Mr. Scott is DTCM’s UK and Ireland director.
