Green tourism used to be a niche form of tourism but it is now pushing its way into the mainstream. The term eco-tourism implies travel to protected areas in a low impact, small scale way, and there is a focus on educating the traveler.
Emirates launched Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa the first luxury, conservation based resort in Australia. Emirates’ Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa is located in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and just celebrated its tenth anniversary. Mr. Williams said the secret of success is having a long term vision. He said financial investment and conservation are long term projects and these two elements are natural partners.
