A new report by James Lang Lasalle (JLL) said Abu Dhabi is close to replacing Dubai as the hotel destination of choice for investors. The capital is moving forward with various high profile events and project such as the upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Middle East International Film Festival. Abu Dhabi also continues to develop Yas Island which will be home to the Louvre and Guggenheim museums.
James Lang LaSalle real estate investment survey for the Middle East and North Africa explained that Abu Dhabi, like Dubai in the past, is taking strategic steps to “expand its tourism offer and to attract an increasing number of visitors.” The survey said “Due to the planned infrastructure and tourism developments, Abu Dhabi leads the way in terms of potential for hotel investment.” The JLL survey showed 24 per cent of investors prefer the Abu Dhabi hotel hospitality market, and 19 per cent prefer Dubai.
