Riyadh municipality has announced new activities for this years Eid celebration, which will probably start on Sunday. A spokesman of the High Commission for Development of Riyadh said “The 2009 edition of Eid celebrations will begin with prayers and will highlight the festivity through a range of events and activities, featuring fireworks, concerts, shows, local plays, poetry sessions, and woman’s programs.”
The fireworks shows start at 9:30 on the first day of Eid, at seven different locations throughout the city, and are the highlight of the festivities. A 90 minute program will begin at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium and feature sports activities, shows, and a parade. Car and motorcycle races will be a major attraction at the show. Other programs taking place during Eid include a remote control air show, sky diving performance, bicycle race, and traditional music.
