Prince Naif urged countries that send Umrah and Haj pilgrims to adopt precautionary measures against the disease and to provde required vaccinations to meet recommended health conditions. The Prince presided over a meeting held by the Supreme Haj Committee on Sunday to review precautionary measures needed to prevent an outbreak of swine flu.
Prince Naif, who is Second Deputy Prime Minister of Interior, said related departments should work together to ensure the safety of guests of God who come for Haj and Umrah. He said “Countries should conduct necessary programs to enhance Haj awareness of their pilgrims before their arrival in the Kingdom in order to help them perform their religious rituals in the right manner with safety and tranquility.” The annual pilgrimage is the biggest gathering of Muslims in the world.
