Former Bangladesh cricket captain liked the dishes at a Surrey restaurant in the UK so much, he ordered several delivered via airmail to Dubai. Captain Habibul Bashar ate at the Amish Indian Restaurant in Surrey England during the Twenty20 competition in June. Mr. Bashar made the special order for a party he his hosting for around 50 of his friends and family.
The owners of the UK restaurant, Amin and Sham Ali, flew to Dubai earlier this week, accompanied by one of their chefs, and personally delivered special boxes of frozen food. Boxes made of polystyrene were used to transport the food which was later put in boxes with dry ice. The cost of the food and the flight all together was $7,000. Amin said “It is a big job as there is quite a lot of food. It is nice to hear that he thought that much of our food, especially as he is Asian himself.”
