A senior official at Dnata said hotel and airline prices are 20 per cent lower compared to last summer season. Dnata is the travel management company of Emirates Group and the General Sales Agent (GSA) for 30 airlines. They also sell tickets for other airlines.
Prices continue to be slashed in order to boost demand because travel has declined. Hotels in popular destinations in the UAE are also cutting their rates and more discounts are possible over the next few weeks.
Dnata’s product development manager Tim White said discount offers are coming in daily. The average reduction in rates for flights and hotels for South East Asia are between 15% and 20%. For European destinations prices have decreased between 20% and 25%.
