The number of UK visitors to Dubai fell 9% in the first quarter of the year. Figures from the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) show the number of visitors from the UK and Ireland in the first months of the year fell to 195,000 from 210,000 for the same period last year.
The market in the UK and Ireland increased to 13% to 900,000 in last year. The director of the DTCM office in the UK and Ireland, Ian Scott said the 7% decline in visitors was less than expected and could be regained. He said the UK is suffering a little bit and they will recover from this decline. UK is the biggest market for tourists in Dubai, followed by Iran, which had no decline in the number of visitors according to DTCM figures.
