Shoe makers and enthusiasts are all set to come together at the Malaysia International Shoe Festival from April 2-4. The festival will take place at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur and is an effort to celebrate the best of the local shoe industry, including makers of traditional footwear, along with international designers. One of the most anticipated shoe makers at the event is Jimmy Choo, slated to speak at a seminar and showcase ten of his most successful creations at the festival.
According to the Minister for Tourism, Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, Malaysia could be easily developed as a centre for international shoe fashion with Choo’s collaboration. “My dream is for Malaysia to become a shoe buyer’s centre. People go to Milan to look for fashion,” she said.
Some of the brands that will exhibit their collections include Vincci, Bonia, Sembonia, Carlo Rhino, Jukebox, Larrie, Nose, Asadi and Lewre.
