March 17- A two week cultural extravaganza at Janadriya village was inaugurated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah on Tuesday. Janadriya village is 45 km north-east of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A variety of cultural dances, a huge open-air operetta entitled “The Unity of a Nation” and a spectacular camel race are expected to attract hundreds of thousands of Saudi and expatriate visitors. About 1,000 camels and jockeys will participate in the camel race.
Abdul Mohsin Al-Tuwaijri said “The focus will also be the presence of about 400 scholars, writers and men of letters, including litterateurs and artists, who will start performing from Wednesday and carry on until March 30.” Al-Tuwaijri, who is assistant deputy commander of the National Guard, spoke about the festival at the opening of the 25th National Culture and Heritage Festival at Saudi Arabia. He said several guests including King Hamad bin lsa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain will arrive in the Kingdom on Wednesday to attend the opening of the festival.
