March 21- The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Sunday that roads and bridges leading to the Meydan Racecourse, Nad Al Sheba, will be opened soon. These include bridges as long as 2025 metres with two lanes each, a private bridge for VIP use and two 710 metre-long bridges.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the board and Executive Director, RTA, speaking to journalists on the occasion, said: “The Meydan Roads and Bridges Project is one of the key projects undertaken by the RTA and its importance is underlined by its size that spans an area of 67 million square feet and harbours the world’s biggest horseracing course.”
Tayer also hailed the cooperation extended to the RTA by the Meydan City Corp. The corporation helped in stepping up the work tempo and ensured completion in record time.
