Several parks in Abu Dhabi are seen housing fitness and sports equipment in line with the city municipality’s commitment to encouraging a healthier lifestyle. New fitness facilities are being installed along walkways in the Public Park at Abu Dhabi Corniche and the park on Khalifa Street.
“This initiative comes within the municipality’s strategy to meet the community needs of services, recreational and sports activities that contribute to promoting the standard of living of the inhabitants, maintaining health and physical fitness,” said Acting Executive Director of Municipal Infrastructure and Assets Sector, Engineer Abdullah Al Shamsi, ”The Municipality of Abu Dhabi has begun the distribution of these equipment to the Public Park at Abu Dhabi Corniche and the Capital’s Park during the initial stage of the project,” he added. Shamsi hoped that all age groups would benefit from this development.
“The Municipality has also installed an electric game for children in the capital’s park to enhance their mental abilities and train them to solve puzzles and mathematical equations. This will attract more people to the park. Families can come here for recreation, educational activities for kids and also play sports,” he explained.
