April 3- Holiday season traffic is increasing as more and more people are looking to take a break from work, said an Emirates Holidays official. “People worked really hard last year. A return on those investments is trickling in now,” John Felix, senior vice-president of Emirates Holidays said.
Felix added that while people are still looking for cheap holidays, they are also looking for quality. They want to do as much as possible when they go on vacation to another country and are looking for a wide range of activities.
Last year, the demand for holidays went down by 22 per cent but it is picking up pace this year, he added. “Indicators show that we might beat 2008 numbers”, said Felix, pointing out that double-digit traffic is expected this year.
Last year, the H1N1 scare, economic slowdown and Ramadan led to a slowing down of tourism. This summer, however, will be different, said Felix.
