Netherlands is planning to boost its tourism by setting up an ‘Arab village’ in the country, said Hans van Driem, Managing Director of the Holland Business Promotion Office on Wednesday. This will be an investment worth Dh39 billion, he added.
This investment, he explained may bring the 2028 Olympic Games to Netherlands, 100 years after the last games took place in Amsterdam (1928). We want to develop sports tourism. We want to bid for the Olympic Games in 2028,” said Driem.
Meanwhile, the committee that put forth the proposal has also said that Holland needs 15,000 new hotel rooms in order to manage the increasing volume of tourists — about10 million each year.
