May 24 – Emirates Airline has launched a new service called ‘Mobile Emirates.com’ through which customers will be able to book their flights from their cellphone via a phone browser. The service will work on over 3,000 different mobiles and will allow customers to search for their flight schedules, statuses, and check-in.
Emirates Senior Vice President of Network Sales and Passenger Development, Russell Sheldon, said: “Consumers are far more mobile than ever before. There is a constant need for products and services to cater to the fast paced lifestyle that today’s individuals lead. People want it here and now, without exception. Mobile search has become one of the fastest growing activities on the internet and, as one of the foremost innovative airlines, the move to allow passengers to quickly and conveniently book their tickets through their mobile phone was a natural one.” Currently, the service is available only in English.
