June 17 – Dubai hopes to attract over 500,000 Saudi tourists by the end of this year, said Talal Al-Suwaidi, a Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DDTCM) at a the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.
“Saudis are still ranked the first among the residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries visiting Dubai. Last year we received 414,000 Saudi tourists and we hope this year to break the barrier of half a million tourists,” added Al-Suwaidi.
A workshop followed the press conference in which both the DDTCM and DEPE introduced several deals and promotions that will feature this year to promote Dubai as a summer destination for families. Attractions of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), which is organized by the DEPE, were also unveiled. The festival starts today and will run till August 7.
