Emirates was on Wednesday named the Best International Airline at the China Travel Service Awards, organised by Sohu.com, mainland China’s leading on-line portal.
The award was given on the basis of responses of a jury panel comprising over 18 experts in the travel industry as well as millions of Chinese speaking ‘netizens.’
“The result is a true portrayal of traveller’s choice in China. The inauguration of the Emirates A380 in Beijing market impressed the whole travel industry,” said Ms Nancy Wang, Chief Editor of Sohu.com – Travel Channel.
“Winning this prestigious award from sohu.com is extremely significant for Emirates. China is one of Emirates’ most important markets and we strive to ensure that we are offering the best service to our customers, from onboard products to a global network of destinations. The launch of our Airbus A380 scheduled services from Beijing and Hong Kong are just two examples of our commitment to providing our customers with an outstanding travel experience,” said Edwin Lau, Emirates’ Vice President, Greater China.
“Emirates Airline is a reliable and professional partner of Chinese travel agencies and international tourism bureaus as it provides convenient connections to over 100 leading outbound destinations, such as South Africa, and provides excellent service at a reasonable price,” said Ms Tracy Qi, the Country Manager of South Africa Tourism.
“These qualities have successfully addressed the needs of our consumers, and we have consistently received positive feedback from them on their flying experience with Emirates, especially during the South Africa World Cup 2010 this summer. Emirates’ FIFA World Cup 2010™ Travel Packages greatly increased the in-bound traveller numbers from China to South Africa,” Ms Qi commented.
Currently, Emirates offers double daily non-stop services from Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong to Dubai and daily services from Guangzhou. Emirates’ Airbus A380 operates daily from Beijing and Hong Kong to Dubai.
