The Ministry of Tourism opened its doors to those Egyptians hoping to apply for Umrah on Tuesday. Munir Fakhri Abdel Nour, the secretary general of the Wafd party in Egypt and the Minister of Tourism announced the success of negotiations with the Saudi authorities to start flights for pilgrimage. The Saudi authorities had issued an earlier decision to postpone accepting applications for pilgrimage from the Egyptians until calm returned to Egypt after the revolution of January 25, which took off on the basis of ousting former Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak.
Submission of applications is in accordance with the systems agreed with the Chamber of Egyptian Tourism and the travel requirements prescribed by the Saudi authorities.
