The ninth edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days was launched on Sunday, and events and other cultural activities will take place throughout the first weeks of April, ending on April 18.
The festival runs under the slogan, “Inspired by Heritage,” and will be held for 16 days throughout the emirate, including Sharjah city, Al Hamriya, Al Dhaid, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Wadi Al Helou and Maleha.
“Through such festivals, we are protecting our heritage and teaching the younger generation the importance of our national identity. It is now time for citizens to give back to the nation, in the same way that our nation has given us our culture and tradition,” said Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Owais, Director of Heritage Department at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information.
