As the weather cools, Al Ain Zoo will be shifting its opening hours from 9am to 8pm daily, giving families the opportunity to maximise their experience and time with the animals in the cooler season. The new opening hours commence on Saturday, October 1, and will continue until the Eid Al Adha holiday, during which the zoo will open at 10am and close at 10pm to allow celebrations into the evening. Regular hours (from 9am to 8pm) will resume after the holiday.
The zoo is packed full of new features to ensure every visit reveals something new, with the recently launched new animal encounters including the Giraffe Feeding experience, which takes place five times daily in a specially designed area next to the Reptile House. Another new experience is ‘Elezba’, a petting zoo designed in the style of a local farm where families and children are invite to get up close to domesticated furry and feathered animals such as sheep, goats, camels, llamas, chicken and ducks. Those who are looking for some excitement will enjoy the Camel ride which is available in the green area next to the train stop. The new Zoo Shuttle Service, which can be booked at the main entrance, takes visitors on a tour around the zoo with stops to hop on and off at main exhibits.
