Following the plans announced earlier this year, the Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina opened on Sunday as the newest and most appealing luxury hotel in the Eternal City. Featuring an exclusive offer of architecture, culture, local art, spacious gardens and wellness facilities and of course, a rich cuisine, the hotel Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina offered its first guests a warm spring-time welcome.
In addition, the Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina is pleased to announce the incorporation of renowned Italian chef Alfonso Iaccarino to the hotel’s Vivavoce restaurant, a unique experience in fine Mediterranean cuisine, which promises to soon become the new gastronomic destination in the city of Rome.
Alfonso Iaccarino (09/01/47, Sant’Agata sui due Golfi, Napoli, Italy) joins the Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina after a long career as the chef and owner of the Don Alfonso 1890 restaurant, awarded with two Michelin stars. As heir to the family business located in San’tAgata sui due Golfi, Iaccarino, his wife Livia and son Ernesto have invested their centennial family history in creating new culinary delights for the enjoyment of the international public.
Decorated in elegant natural hues and offering restive views of the Domiziani Orti gardens, the Vivavoce restaurant aims to become a place of devotion for all who seek the finest Mediterranean cuisine and excellence in service, two attributes which have merited the Iaccarino family numerous national and international recognitions.
In the words of Iaccarino, “The kitchen is a place of inspiration which has been the passion for five generations of my family. In creating the new Vivavoce restaurant at the Gran Meliá Rome Villa Agrippina, we begin the process of creation taking the enormous wealth of the Mediterranean cuisine, nature and passion of its people. Our proposal will be authentic, the service warm and the flavors delightful. We want to entice the customer to return again and again”.
Located at Vía del Gianicolo 4, on the banks of the Tiber River, the hotel is surrounded by shops and monuments like the Coliseum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza Navona, the Oratory of Gonfalone , all easily accessible on foot. Apart from the Vivavoce Restaurant, the Hotel Gran Melia Rome offers stylish bars and lounges which allow guests a unique experience without leaving the hotel.
