Dubai, UAE – As hundreds of people across the country gathered on March 31st to observe Earth Hour, the management, staff and hotel guests of Ramada Downtown Dubai, located in Dubai’s most prestigious and vibrant district, have also participated in the cause by switching off lights in the building between 8:30 and 9:30pm.
Candles and lamps greeted hotels guests at the lobby while diners at Orchid Restaurant didn’t mind having a candle-lit dinner during the one-hour darkness. The guests supported the initiative and were very pleased with the hotel joining the global campaign.
Wael El Behi, Executive Assistant Manager, Ramada Downtown Dubai, said: “We would like to thank our valued guests who participated in the Earth Hour by turning off their lights for an hour. Our effort will not be a success if not for their support. It was also a well-built team work from everyone from the Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping and F&B departments. We are very pleased to have contributed in the worldwide campaign against global warming and raise awareness on the importance of conserving power!”
Located in the Downtown Dubai area, Ramada Downtown joined the rest of the organizations including several hundred residents and visitors who gathered around the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall Fountain to take part in the global campaign.
The initiative is also part of the property’s “I Am Green” program aimed at educating people on the importance of conservation and reduced consumption of the Earth’s resources.
