Ramadan has started and over 1 billion Muslims around the world go into a month of extra piety and religious fervour. This is a month when people do not eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset and get to feel how those who are less privileged than us are able to go through their daily grind without three meals a day.
While those who travel are allowed to skip their fasts they have to make up by fasting after Ramadan. Those who are unable to fast due to old age or medical reasons can feed others during Ramadan.
At Irhal.com we are starting a series of articles on how Ramdan is celebrated across the globe. Special foods and drinks, special clothes and a different lifestyle marks the month in every country.
